Jennifer Ju, MD – BIO
Jennifer Ju, MD is a primary care physician, who has been in private practice in Bridgeport for 13 years. She graduated from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, and completed her residency program at Brown University. During her residency, Jennifer participated in a mindfulness based stress reduction program, created by Jon Kabat-Zinn, founding Executive Director of the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care and Society at University of Massachusetts. In 2016, Jennifer attended a 2 day workshop on Mindfulness in Education at the Omega Institute at Rhinebeck, NY, where she networked with numerous specialists in the field of mindfulness within the field of education. She has also participated in mindfulness meditation programs developed by leaders such as Sharon Saltzberg, neuropsychologist, Rick Hanson, and Deepak Chopra, MD.
In August 2017, Jennifer helped spearhead a one day professional development conference, sponsored by the Milford Education Foundation, for Milford Public School employees. Jennifer’s keynote presentation for this conference focused on mindfulness and its benefits. She also gave the keynote presentation on mindfulness and its benefits on March 3, 2018, at Minds in Motion, a half day educational enrichment event for parents and students, in Milford, CT. Jennifer will also be running a half day professional development conference on mindfulness at the Early Childhood Center in Fairfield, CT on May 22, 2018. In addition, Jennifer will be speaking about mindfulness at Milford Public School’s professional development workshop on May 23, 2018. She is also working with Milford’s Youth Services Network on developing mindfulness initiatives in Milford.
In her primary care practice, Jennifer emphasizes diet, exercise, and stress reduction strategies such as mindfulness, as the foundation of pursuing health and wellness. She has also combined her interest in meditation and traditional primary care, with holistic, integrative medicine and has attended the Institute of Functional Medicine’s conference on neurodegenerative disorders last spring. Jennifer enjoys educating and empowering patients to heal the whole self.
